7 Most important things for people who want to sell their services online, Successfully!

1. Website: Any outsourcing or service firm needs a nice website which clearly outlines its services. It does not need to be a graphically rich site but an impressive and fast to load site with quality contents. Professional copy writing and designing is considerable. Specify the technologies, tools and skill sets your business consists. An introduction to your talent/employees can also help.

2. Marketing: A great website is useless if nobody knows about it. Google adwords is best source of relevant traffic to your website. It is a Cost-per-click ad program serving text and graphic ads on its search engine and publisher network. Adwords provide great features like language and region specific ad distribution, budget constrains and many more.

3. Communication: English speaking staff is a must if you are targeting the EU/US markets. Make sure that your marketing team is proficient with language issues. Language should not be a barrier. Follow up all the correspondence in timely manner.

4. Sample Work: Nicely done sample projects are required to display your expertise, capabilities and experience in the field. Make fast loading content available in your online profile. You may provide links on website for visitors "to request demo cd" etc for content which can not be put on the website for it large filesize. A anonymous ftp folder can also be of great help.

Furthermore if you start charging less, after some time, you are valued less. But at the same time your prices must not be astronomically high than the competition. Be clear about your prices. Any red tape or hidden cost can affect your returning customers. Mention hourly or package prices, taxes, shipping and other possible expanses in the quote or pricing section and while initial communication.

Being a webmaster is a much more important job than most companies would dare admit. Webmasters are responsible for the company web presence on every level, from the website copy to the web and email server administration. Additionally, webmasters are often tasked even more duties that should be considered unrelated responsibilities for the position of webmaster. These extra duties often will include online as well as offline promotion and marketing, search optimization, advertising, application programming, graphic design and/or brand management. The role of the webmaster has grown over the years and webmasters need to grow with the company's expectations or the website will not succeed. For instance, it is easy to get banned from the search engines for not knowing the correct methods to use to optimize a website for a better results ranking from the search engines for any particular search phrase.

This is why Webmastery is here, not just to offer direction and assist webmasters, but to do so masterfully, as you expect of yourself, or as your company expects out of you.

This difference is even more apparent when I am showcasing and promoting white hat SEO (search engine optimization) and a black hat SEO article is published here, which method if followed could get a website banned from the search engines. The reason I allow it a small platform is to showcase its apparent and obvious idiocy in contrast to white hat SEO techniques. And as I cannot edit these articles in order to correct them, I let their illogicality and stupidity stand on their own for a time without any edits. But in case their spaminess is not apparent, I often do not let such articles stand long.
